Guangzhou Biolight Biotechnology Co., Ltd（abbreviated as. BLT) , located in Guangzhou Science City and occupying a site of nearly 7,500 square metres, specialises in the development of high-efficiency photon signal detection and recognition technologies. The company applies these technologies to fields such as life sciences research, medical diagnostics, biopharmaceuticals and cell therapy. Integrating research and development, production and services, it is currently one of the very few specialised companies worldwide capable of providing a comprehensive range of photon detection equipment and reagents.
Guided by the philosophy that ‘technology illuminates the light of life’, BLT has continuously strengthened its R&D capabilities, establishing long-term and stable technical partnerships with numerous universities and research institutes both domestically and internationally. The company has also built a high-calibre R&D management team comprising several PhD and Master’s degree holders; R&D personnel account for nearly 50% of the workforce, and the company continues to achieve breakthroughs in the field of life science tools. The company was recognised as a “Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Little Giant” in 2015 and as a National High-Tech Enterprise in 2017 and 2020. It was recognised as a ‘Gazelle Cultivation Enterprise’ in Huangpu District for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022, a Guangzhou ‘Specialised, Refined, Unique and Innovative’ (Two Highs and Four News) enterprise in 2021, a Guangdong Province ‘Specialised, Refined, Unique and Innovative’ enterprise in 2022, and a National ‘Little Giant’ enterprise in 2025.
BLT currently focuses on developing four main product ranges: molecular imaging, cellular imaging, in vivo imaging, and the corresponding reagents and consumables.
BLT has developed a range of reagent kits designed to complement its instrumentation, including substrates for in vivo animal imaging, ECL-enhanced luminescent solutions, nucleic acid dyes and fluorescent probes. BLT operates a 1,000-square-metre Class 100,000 cleanroom facility dedicated to reagent research, development and production, enabling it to supply high-quality reagents and consumables to a wide range of customers.
In addition, BLT has established state-of-the-art facilities, including cell culture rooms, biological laboratories and chemical synthesis laboratories, and possesses strong technical service capabilities. The company is able to provide services such as PCR testing, nucleic acid gel electrophoresis, Western blot protein expression analysis and in vivo imaging, thereby covering virtually all experimental requirements in molecular biology—from the molecular and cellular levels to in vivo studies.
